Does Humulin R Injection Appear Cloudy?

if a nurse is about to give a dose of humulin R to a patient name as SJ whose blood sugar is 19.6 mmol/L and height is 5 feet 7 inches and weighs 171 pounds . Another nurse enters the medication room states "that insulin is cloudy,donot use it."The primary nurse responds by saying "it is suppose to look this way."Who is right?

Hi,
Humulin R is a soluble insulin and it should appear like pure water. if it appears cloudy, it must have been contaminated. On the other hand, Humulin N or Humulin30/70 are protonated insulins and they appear cloudy.
A plain insulin may get contaminated and may become turbid, in which case it needs to be disposed away. A minor mistake with insulin can be catastrophic, and hence extreme caution is warranted.
