Does Herceptin Interact With Zometa And Arimidex?

I am on herceptin, zometa, and arimidex. My fingernails are lifting, splitting and peeling badly! I m trying to figure out which one of these meds is causing this. Its getting worse and something needs to be done, because my treatment is for life.

I do understand your concern

“As” per your history these three drugs has no interaction at all. You can take it without any quandaries.for nail do a physical examination by your dermatologist who will scrape some debris from your nail and send it to a lab to identify the type of infection present.if fungal infection present then [itraconazole] are prescribed for these conditions for 12 weeks.you can withal use nail polish like [ciclopirox]

For finger nail you can do few things at home like this-:

1)you can wear rubber gloves while doing all housework, including pabulum preparation.

2)Keep the nails trimmed short to reduce worsening of nail splitting.

3)Soak the nails in water daily for 15 minutes at a time every day.

4)Apply moisturizers such as petroleum jelly to ameliorate nail hydration.

5)You can take [biotin] supplementation customarily to avert it.
