Does HARRT Treatment Cause Skin Problems?

HI, i am an Asian now 53 years old. I have contracted HIV for about 8 months now on HARRT treatment for about 4 months. I find the chest and limbs oily with very minute white particle on the skin looking like the acne of my young times. Also some white peels appear on the skin. Further the cholesterol level is high. Was that due to the side effects of the HIV treatment. How can the said skin problems be treated. Thanks for your expert expert. Sincere Tom. 26 December 2011

Yes, you are right. These problems can arise because of HAART including altered blood lipids levels. You may try some skin creams and moisturizers , but the best way is to change the Anti retroviral drugs to a safer combination.
