Does Furosemide Interact With Lopressor?

I am currently taking Lopressor for my high blood pressure. I had heart valve replacement surgery in November, 2015. The surgery went fine, but I ve had a terrible time with blood pressure medications. I m also on furosemide. A pharmacist friend said I should maybe try an ARB. Your thoughts please

Hi,

If blood pressure is not controlled with one drug we add second and even third drug if needed. So yes if your BP is not controlled with Furosemide you can think about adding another drug. It may be Lopressor or any other. However, no medicine should be taken without consultation with your doctor. So I will advise you should visit your doctor he would check your BP and if needed would add an appropriate drug to achieve control.
