Hi There

Ezetimibe although is a very good non statin drug for cholesterol lowering but every medicine has its own side effects which are more in some people than others.
Although muscle atrophy has not been mentioned as a side effect but in some post marketing trials some reports of myopathy do have been reported. So its advisable to discontinue the medicine. Yes you can report this effect om of drug to the post marketing authorities. For this you need to take your doctor in the process for proper reporting.

I wish your brother good health
