Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My father is having chemo (Eribulin) for liposarcoma. He has developed uncomfortable swelling in his legs. A dose of lasix helped. But doctor won t prescribe more because he has only one kidney -and she fears it s too hard on the kidney. Is leg swelling a side effect? He has been checked for blood clots by ultrasound and he was clear, by the way.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The bleeding you have could be due to implantation bleeding which happens around 8-10 days of fertilization (conception) home pregnancy test turns reliably +ve after 8 days of an expected date of period.
Please go for it after a week to confirm/exclude pregnancy. In case the pregnancy test is -ve again.
You need to undergo investigations to find cause of hormonal imbalance. Consult a gynecologist in that case.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
