Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Its safety on the liver function not studied.

Dimethyl sulfoxide is a prescription medicine and dietary supplement commonly used to decrease pain and speed the healing of wounds, burns, and muscle and skeletal injuries. It is also used topically to treat painful conditions such as headache, inflammation, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and trigeminal neuralgia.

It may harm the functions and the liver and kidneys hence the relevant lab tests are recommended every six months during the course of treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
