Does Dicloxacillin Cause Diarrhea And Body Pain?

Hi, I was on Cephalexin 500 mg for 10 days to treat cellulitis in my leg. The doctor prescribed Dicloxacillin 500 mg for 10 additional days because the infection did not clear up. I finished the second med Monday. Wednesday I developed diarrhea, body aches and pains and do not feel well. I am 73 and otherwise in good health.

Yes, Dicloxacillin can cause diarrhea and body pain.
The most common side effects of Dicloxacillin include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, flatulence, and pseudomembranous colitis.
The symptoms of diarrhea, flatulence and stomach upset appear to be due to secondary infection of the large intestine due to overgrowth of the bacteria clostridium deficille. You are advised to consult your treating doctor for further evaluation and treatment which may involve the use of Metronidazole lactibacillus spores, and rehydration therapy.
