Since my brother s death, 2 years ago this month, his wife has been in a constant state of severe depression and anxiety. She went into rapid menopause right after his death. She is under the care of a psychiatrist, a gynecologist and I believe, an endocrinologist now. She was previously prescribed lexapro, and other similar medication which her body and mind reacted immediately adversely to. The doctor told her she was allergic to these anxiety/depression meds. The same thing happened when the gynecologist started estrogen therapy. They had to immediately discontinue that as well. She cries constantly and feels panicked upon waking and doesn t feel relief until she is asleep. I know the feeling of anxiety (am to pm) all too well. She says she wants to die (but her religious beliefs prevent her from attempting suicide.) Thank Goodness! She just wants to feel somewhat calm. My question is, would Deplin be a good place for her doctors to start since she has such sensitivities to these drugs? My 10 yr old daughter is starting on Deplin in addition to her Clonidine non stimulant ADHD medication which she has been on for about 2 years. I wonder if my sister in law, Anna s symptoms could be helped.
