Does Cymbalta Help Treat Bipolar Disorder?

Is a low dose of Cymbalta alright for someone to take that is bipolar? THey are not on any other meds for the bipolar...THEy are advised to take it for low back pain. This is a person that has had every medical test for pain...And they can find nothing wrong..

Not.... usually....
Cymbalta has some mild amphetamine like effects in many people and this can cause mania.
Of course it IS an antidepressant and if the bipolar illness is currently demonstrated by depression, cymbalta is a pretty good choice to treat it and more than 70% likely to have a good effect on depression.
