Does Corticosteroid Cause Diarrhea?
Can corticosteroids cause diarrhea? And is the liver involved? A veterinarian said that this side effect in my dog (who was receiving corticosteroids) was due to a high dosage that affected the dog s liver. I would like to know if this is true and the mechanism behind it, thanks!

Yes, corticosteroid therapy is associated with several forms of liver injury which appear to be caused directly by corticosteroid therapy.
Corticosteroid use can also cause diarrhea, but it is not a common side effect.
