Does Clindamycin Contain Traces Of Penicillin?

I am allergic to penicillin and I just got a persciption for clindamycin, do I need to concerned of any traces of penicillin in these pills. I took something years ago that ended in the cin and it had a trace in them. Please let me know ASAP before I start to take any of the pills. Thank you

Clindamycin is a type of antibiotic called lincosamide and is not in the penicillin family of drugs.

There should be no cross reaction so you can safely use it to help treat your infection.
