Does Cipro Cause Palpitations And Anxiety?

I took Cipro for a UTI with the course of treatment ending August 30. I am having problems with increased blood pressure, a racing heart, and anxiety. Usually my bottom number is 60 and it is consistently over 70 now and sometime over 80. Could this be side effects from the Cipro or is something else going on?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Your symptoms are more suggestive of stress and anxiety.
But ciprofloxacin is not known to cause anxiety.
Better to consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs (propranolol and flunarizine) too.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
