However, one can develop allergy to any medication/food if they have the susceptibility. There is a possibility that it was some sort of allergic reaction to the food (shrimp) she had. It would be helpful if you told us whether your mother had any history of allergy (including food allergy), dermatitis, asthma or something on that line. I would recommend that you watch her when she takes the medications next time, and also try to avoid shrimps for the time being.
