Does Benzonatate Help Cure Cough?

I have been prescribed by my doctor Benzonatate for my coughing. I told her I was taking also Delsym for the dextrometorphan, as I know I don t need an expectorant because my cough is dry, and doesn t affect my bronchials. I think she said it s all right to take them together. I want a second opinion from you. Thanks, doctor.

Yes you can take them together, no interaction have reported between these drug with each other. They have different ingredient.And yes you don't need an exspectorat when you have dry cough..
Benzonatate is non -narcotic drug cough suppressant is act like a local anesthetic decressing the sensitivity of the bronches
Desylim is a an opioid drug stop the cough reflex.

Don't take more than the doctor prescribe for each medication.
If you have any side effect stop taking them and call your local doctor .
