General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Benadryl when taken in high dose (maximum adult dose being 250 mg / day) can cause hypotension, muscle spasms and heart arrhythmia. This can be aggravated by side effects like agitation, dementia caused by it. Please consult your doctor for fixing your minimum suitable dose or change in your medication after reassessing status of your disease along with psychotherapy.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
