Does Augmentin Cause Diarrhea?
I was prescribed Augmentin (Amox-Clav 875-125 mg tab): 1 tab/2x daily on Saturday 9/23/2017 for a case of sinusitis - after the "Z-Pac" did nothing for the congestion. A little over 24 hours later on 9/24/2017 I started with runny stools. Hardly slept last night due to the "stomach gurgling". Awake again now for work and still have the running stools and gurgling. I have NOT taken any Rx this morning. Should I just stop taking the Rx or do I have to continue? Has this now turned in to "C-diff"? Just want to feel better! Thanks.

Diarrhea is a common concern while on augmentin.Bacteria in the gut, for example, help break down food. Antibiotics kill these “good” microbes along with bacteria that are causing an infection. This upsets the balance of the normal flora in the intestines.
I suggest you to take probiotics while on augmentin to relieve diarrhea.
