Does Aspirin Interact With Metoprolol?
I was listing my father-in-laws medications on a interaction drug guide on line and it showed that aspirin was an antagonist to metoprolol tartrate. I would like to know how much an 81 mg aspirin would decrease the effects of 100 mg tablet of metoprolol tartrate, (twice a day)

There's no harmful interaction between the two given medications.
Basically used as an anti-platelet ('blood thinner') drug, Aspirin is beneficial in preventing the thrombus (clot) in the blood vessels of the heart and brain thus preventing ischemic heart disease and stroke respectively.
It does not interact with the beta blocker like Metoprolol.
Hence it can be taken as prescribed by his treating physician.
