My child was exposed to multiple ticks over the weekend. I removed one attached tick with a tweezer over the weekend, and my husband removed one that had not yet latched. The attached tick was surrounded by a red raised bump. Two other spots appeared with a red raised bump but no tick. I checked these areas often as well as the remainder of her skin, and was sensitive to the itching. Today, these two areas first showed a black mark with ticks within three hours of each, as if they had been burrowed. Is this possible? She vomited upon removal of the second tick tonight. The ticks were likely there for three to four days. How concerned should I be about disease transmission? Also, there was a yellow crusty material when I removed one of the ticks tonight. Is this an additional sign of concern?
