Do Throat Pain And Fever Symptoms During Pregnancy Indicate HSV1 Infection?

Hi I'm Lisa, I have small vesicles in the back of my throat that started 3 days ago ago, throat pain and low grade fever. I got a strep test and it was negative. I'm about 7 weeks pregnant and concerned that this might be a HSV1 infection. However, I have never had a HSV outbreak before. But I do work with many kids. What are your thoughts and please advice..

I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns..

As per your complain and explanation of symptoms as you have got a negative strep test it is apparent that you are suffering from Acute Viral Pharyngitis and it is not due Herpes virus..

You need not to worry as it will be relieved soon..
You do not need any antibiotics as they act on bacteria and do not act on virus..

You should do warm saline gargles.
Drink plenty of warm liquids like soups,broth, luke warm water[tea and coffee should be limited in pregnancy].
For throat pain and fever you can take Paracetamol for relief..
Use a humidifier to relieve throat dryness..
Throat lozenges can relieve..
Avoid spicy food..
Take a cool,soft and bland diet..

In case if it still worsen consult an ENT expert and get evaluated..
