yes, I was diagnosed with viral pneumonia & take some psychiatric drugs also have Parkinson`s. I take 3 alprazolam 2mg, 1tab.of temazepam & 4 tablets of amitriptyline. I am 63 and was given steroids for viral pneumonia. I am still grieving over my daughter`s horrific death & have found some information that might tell me about what was going on in her life. I was having mental confusion, raceing thoughts, and have trouble sleeping even with these meds. I was doing fine. I quit drinking any wine for about 4 days & then when I had a glass I started to feel normal. So I `ve been dealing with some traumatizing events in my life. My daughter was killed in a house fire in Las Vegas 6yrs ago and my husband divorced me 5yrs ago. I think I am experiencing some kind of chemical inbalance because I have never been bipolar. I also researched about pneumonia & found out it can actually cause mental confusion. A couple of times I also felt I was losing contact with reality but it does not last for long. I think I have anxity issues & because I was fine before I got sick. Could it be the steroids?
