General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Ma'am, Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concerns regarding the safety of the prescribed medications.

Yes, the cholesterol lowering medications like 'statins' can cause myopathy (muscle damage) resulting in muscle pain, fatigue or weakness. In its severe form they may cause 'rhabdomyolysis' (breakdown of muscle tissue) resulting in kidney failure.

If the post menopausal symptoms like excessive sweating, vaginal dryness or the sleep problems are unbearable and nothing seems to works, estrogen replacement therapy can be quite effective in preventing and reversing many symptoms.

Drugs like Gabapentin, Duloxetine, Fish oil or Calcium are not known to cause such symptoms however, Gabapentin and the antidepressant Duloxetine are in fact approved to reduce hot flashes particularly the nighttime hot flashes.

I, therefore recommend a gynecologist opinion as far as the treatment of excessive sweating is concerned.

Hope I could answered your query.
Wishing you best of your health.
A feed back is appreciated.
