Do Red And Swollen Sores Around The Anus Suggest Herpes?

Hi I was j.w I have mucus in my stool and some mucus just comes out when passing stool. And I have developed red sores scattered around the anus. No puss of any sort came out of them and now they are just red sores that look open. Not deep wounds or anything. I was wondering what this could be. All my partners said they had been checked and std free. And they always use protection. But sometimes not with me but they do with everyone else. I was wondering what this could be. I m freaking out it could be herpes but I didn t understand the mucus. Idk if hpv or hepatitis c could be of anything. Idk but please respond to let me know?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of mucus in stool, red sores around anus, unprotected sex, wants to know what is this, whether Herpes or Hepatitis C.
Mucus in stool is indicative of an intestinal infection which affects the peri-anal area skin as a condition called excoriation.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Get the stool checked for three consecutive days.
Consult your Doctor for proper visualization of the area and get started on an appropriate antibiotic active against intestinal infection, Metronidazole, and probiotics.
Use boiled for 20 minutes and cooled water.
Stop outside foods and beverages.
Clean the local area with liquid povidone iodine and keep the area aerated by using loose clothes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
