Do Recurring Cough And Painful Neck Suggest Chest Infection?

I have had a severe cough that comes and goes every few weeks for around 3 months, am also experiencing pain in the left side of my neck which has been there for the same amount of time as well as severe pain when I breathe or cough which lasted for about a week, are these symptoms related to some sort of chest infection, or cancer?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should definitely consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Chest x ray
2. PFT (pulmonary function test).
There are few possibilities in your case.
1. Lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI)
2. Bronchitis.
So chest x ray is needed to rule out LRTI (pneumonia). Possibility of cancer is very less. But chest x ray will help in ruling out cancer also.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and start appropriate treatment.
