Do I Need Medication For Pulmonary Fibrosis If Having No Symptoms?

hi, i have pulmanary fibrosis, and i feel very well, i can take a deep breath, hardly no cough, no oxogen, walking everyday almost if its not to hot,don t cough at night hardly, just want to know what you think,i m 72 nowi don t take much meds,just my regular oned, thank you for listening rebecca thompson, female

Thanks for your question on HCM. There is no cure for pulmonary fibrosis. So supportive treatment is all you can offer. But since you are doing well, and able to perfofm all routine activities no need for antifibrotic medicines. But I still suggest you to take
1. Anti oxidants like N acetyl Cystine
2. Multi vitamins
3. Pulmonary vaccination for pneumococcal and h.influenzae.
Pulmonary fibrosis is inflammatory mediated disease so anti oxidants and vitamins will help.
Vaccines help in preventing infection.
I also suggest you to do regular 6 monthly follow up with pulmonary function test(PFT) and yearly follow up with CT Thorax. Continue routine work and chest breathing exercise.
