Do Eye Drops Cause Diarrhea?

I just had Cataract surgery on Monday and it went well. My eye has very little discomfort but I have developed diarrhea which I believe is due to the three eye drops I am using. The two I have with me at work are Durezol and Olfoxacin Ophthalmic. Could it be the drops?

I understand your concern about the situation. I can assure you that the eyedrops used by you do not cause any side effects in the gut. This is because these drugs act locally and are of very small amount. So it is highly unlikely for these drugs to cause any general side effects in the body, especially in the gut. So diarrhea during to eye drops is not likely. The drugs do have side effects, but they are mostly limited to the eye itself, such as blurring of vision, watering of eye.
The diarrhea is due to some other cause.
