Do Dengue Virus Stay In Body After Recovery?
Hi Andrew Recently returned from Bali and felt unwell visited local Dr and had some blood test done which came back positive for dengue fever, now 3 weeks later feeling back to normal, was wondering does virus stay in system and reoccur at anytime or now that well again dengue fever free until bitten again[hope never bitten again] Thank you Darren

Dengue has 3 phase illness.
1. Febrile phase where the viralbload is very high.
2. Critical phase where there is after effects of infection like shock, bleeding and organ impairment. Viral load starts coming down or may reach minimum.
3. Recovery phase where antibodies are high and viruses would have been totally destroyed.
Hence, if you have recovered completely from illness, then you must be free from virus.
