Do Chronic Upper Right Quadrant Pain Suggest Hernia?

Since January 2015 have had chronic upper right quadrant pain - have had every test but MRI ...... So gastro doc says they rule all out & treating me for IBS ........ This is a pain that comes on in a second, the only relief is to lay down on my right side .......... my abdomen does not hurt anywhere else. Have been trying to diagnose myself, could I have hidden hernia??

Thanks for your consultation at HCM!!
I have gone through your case history and being your physician I totally understand your health concerns...
Right upper abdomen pain doesn't signifies hernia intact any abdominal wall hernia presents with swelling...So better stop worrying about hernia....
What about your bowel habits?? Are you having diarrhoea alternating with constipation??? Ate you feeling heart burn?? Since these all are the additional sypmtoms of IBS....
Hope your query is adequately answered if you still have any feel free to ask....
Regards
