Taking Nyquil cannot alone be sufficient and you need to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests, sputum culture, chest x ray as well as allergic tests can help in diagnosis and treatment cab e done accordingly.. In case if viral infection is ruled out it will resolve once the virus completes its cycle in body and in that case you can start taking symptomatic treatment like anti allergics like Levocetrizine, decongestants like Phenylephrine, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room.. You can also cough supperssant like Dextromethorphan and cough expectorant like Gueifenesin.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
