Do Antibiotics Help In Reducing Urine Pus Cells During Pregnancy?

Hi doctor,I m a 30yr old primigravida in first trimester.urine analysis showed few pus cells.doctor prescribed me antibiotics.I m reluctant to take as I m concerned with my baby.l don t have symptoms like pain or burning sensation while micturation.slightly abdomen pain which started with pregnancy.is it necessary to take antibiotics...

Hello dear,
Understand your concern.
Do not worrry.
You can take antibiotic in the pregnancy.
Because when UTI is severe it can affect pregnancy in futrue.
You can take:
Cephalexin 500 mg 4 times daily
Ampicillin 500 mg 4 times daily
Nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice daily

Also take following advice:
Drink plenty of watre
Drink fruit juice of carnbeery and irange
Wipe front-to-back after urinating or defecating
Wash hands before using the toilet
Use washcloths to clean the perineum
Use liquid soap to prevent colonization from bar soap
Clean the urethral meatus first when bathing
