Do Air Fresheners Cause Chemical Pneumonia?

Do air fresheners cause chemical pneumonia? If a person has coughed once after it is sprayed, would that trigger pneumonia in addition to them laying down. Would the air freshener have to automatically have to have chemical ingredients, or can it cause chemical pnemonia even if it is natural just because it was inhaled through cough? Also how soon after exposure would they become sick

Hello,

Home fragrance products often contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that include such nasty chemicals as formalehyde, petroleum distillates, limonene, esters and alcohols.

They may induce astmatic episode lead to chest tightness and cough. If allergic to that air freshener lead to breathlessness and congestion and last stage pneumonia.

Duration of development may vary depending upon time of exposure, concentration of the chemical et cetera. Please consult your physician, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
