Do Metoprolol, Effient And Lipitor Cause Diarrhea?
My husband had a stent placement on June 1, 2018 and was started on Effient and Lipitor and also Metorprolol. Since starting these, he has had a problem with bouts of horrible explosive diarrhea - last week it went on for 4 days with us ending up in the ER for 3 hours and him having 1000mL of Sodium Chloride via IV along with a Chest X-Ray and CT of the abdomen. Could any of these 3 meds contribute to this. He also takes Lisinopril, Metformin and Aspirin every day.

Lipitor may cause diarrhea. people taking Lipitor, diarrhea was a reported side effect in up to 5.3 percent of them.
So you may take probiotics along with Lipitor for diarrhea or stop the drug you can take alternate statins.
