Do I Need To See A Doctor For A Spider Bite?

I got bit by a spider on my forearm and it is swelled up and red. About an inch and a half long ways. Hard to the touch and pretty noticeable. My hand goes slightly numb. It is moderately painful when working the muscles but I can always feel it resting or not. Should I go to my family doc or just wait it out?

Hello,

You may consult as early as possible. Some spider bites are more venomous may lead to bleb formation and ulceration and gangrene formation etc.

You may need antihistamines or tetanus toxoid injection. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
