Do Efavirenz, Emtricitabine And Tenofovir Interfere With Each Other?

Need Advice and Help between the HRT ( Male To Female ) and interactions with Efavirenz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Im confused as some of the HRT tablets in the market online which i read about them such as Premarine , Progynova, Diane 35 for example and also others so, all of them have interactions with Efavirenz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir ( Which ATRIPLA contains them ,The HIV+ Medications ) I wonder myself are those websites really giving the right informations between the interactions drugs checker i have found Premarine, Progynova and Efavirenz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir? If its true and yes, should i change my HIV + Medication and switch to another new different supply as replacement which doesn t contains the ingredients of Efavirenz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir in order to suits, match and work a better result between the combination of those HRT Tablets and the HIV+ medications? Also, for your information, i have been on HIV+ medications for the past 15 years, and i started ATRIPLA since around 8 years ago if im not mistaken, before that i have using different other HIV+ combinations of course until ATRIPLA comes out in the market which they all believe is the best combination for most HIV+ Patients... But since the past 10 years till now ATRIPLA is giving me a healthy result, im kind of worry if i switch different HIV+ Medications to different other new combinations which doesnt contain the ingredients Efavirenz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir in order to match other HRT Tablets such as Premarine or Progynova, will the new HIV+ Medication may reduce the effective towards my CD4 counts as well as my Viraload increase? And also do u think SPIRONOLACTONE is a good idea to take also for someone like me in my situation ? Confused, Mrs. Confused..... Ps - These are some of the websites i fund and read the HRT Medications such as Premarine or Progynova and moderate interaction with Efavirenz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir , perhaps it it might interest you if u take a look and read of them if you have time thanks.... 1)http://www.medbroadcast.com/Drug/GetDrug/Premarin 2)http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/conjugated-estrogens,premarin-index.html ( the drug interaction checker which i found between Premarine interacts with Efaverinz, Emtricitabine and Tenofovir in MODERATE DANGEROUS situation ) 3)https://www.inhousepharmacy.vu/p-323-premarin-0625mg.aspx

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are various treatment regimens available for the therapy of HIV depending upon the CD 4 count and other parameters. The Emtricitabine and Tinofovir are from Nucleoside Reverse, Transcriptase inhibitors and Efavirenz is a Non Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. There are no interactions among 3 of the drugs mentioned above.

On the reverse, they augment effects of each other via efficacy increment pathway. The combination helps to maintain CD 4 counts and best results are obtained via majority of the clinicians. Do remain in regular follow up with your consultant for excellent outcomes.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
