Dizziness, Shaky, Hot. Wisdom Teeth Extracted 3 Days Ago. Normal?

It has been a week and 3 days after my wisdom teeth extraction (all 4 out, bottom impacted). I have been off of Vicodin and antibiotics for 2 days and just been taking the Motrin 800 mg. The dentist said there was no infection on Thursday. I am still very dizzy and nauseous gotten the shakes and very hot. Is this a normal effect from the wisdom teeth after this long?

HELLO,

Post extraction of wisdom tooth usually shows such symptoms.

I would advice you to take adequate rest and avoid anxiety.

Please do not take medicines in empty stomach.

Gargle frequently with lukewarm saline.

Maintain oral hygiene well.

Hope this helps.

HI,
I have gone through your concern.

Extraction of wisdom teeth is minor surgical process but it is accompanied with the loss of some bone surrounding the teeth.

As per you mentioned your 4 teeth have been extracted at same time so,that must have caused discomfort to you as the extraction of impacted wisdom teeth is some what painful condition also there is reduced food intake because of reduced in mouth opening until the inflammation goes off.

But the good news for you that there is no infection at the extraction site that means you are keeping your mouth clean and following the doctor's instructions properly.

The dizziness and nausea can be because of the antibiotics you are taking. But you cant avoid the antibiotics because it helps in healing of the wound.

Just remember following points:

1)Take capsule Omez 500mg half and hour before food.
2) Take your antibiotics after food
3) Take proper food rich in Proteins,Vit C.;milkshakes, yogurt, soups, mashed potatoes, bananas,Dates, which helps in recovering blood loss.
4) cold milk before going to bed also helps in preventing acidity in stomach which often causes burning sensation.

Not to worry much,Hope you get well soon.

kindly write a review if you find the information helpful.

Take care!

Welcome to HCM
When you are taking pain killer make sure you take it after food as empty stomach can cause nausea and soreness in the tummy. Also loss of blood during the procedure can make you feel dizzy.
An overdose of Mortin i.e ibuprofen can cause damage to your stomach or intestines. Use only the smallest amount of Motrin needed to get relief from your pain, swelling, or fever. Also you haven't mentioned if there is any persisting swelling at the extraction site?
It is advisable that you to take proper nutrition and adequate rest, also maintain a good oral hygiene... Consult your dentist for the medications that you can continue.
Get well soon...

Hi

Thanks for writing in.

These symptoms are quiet normal after wisdom tooth extraction.
You need to continue your course of antibiotics.
Do warm saline rinses thrice a day.
Take proper rest.
Visit your dentist for regular dental check-up.
