Dizziness After Surgical Procedure Is Effect Of Anesthesia Or Other Complication?

Had out patient surgery this morning. Several hours later I went outside to tal to my husband. It is high 90 s here today. I started to feel dizzy and my husband walked me to the garage. Then I passed out. was this due to the anesthesia or should I be concerned about an infection in my surgical area?

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello dear,

Thank you for your contact to health care magic.

I read and understand your concern.

I am Dr Arun Tank answering your concern.

No, this reaction is common after surgery.

Because of surgical anaesthesia your veins in the blood gets pooled into the leg of patient so you feel dizziness.

But such reaction only last for only few days so don't worry for dizziness.. It will go away with its own.

If its infection than it causes local inflammation and discharge at local sight.

So don't worry for it. Maintain good hygiene at local sight it will help you prevent infection.

I will be happy to answer your further concern on bit.ly/DrArun.

Thank you,
Dr Arun Tank
