Difficulty In Stooping Down From Standing Position, No Pain, Lots Of Crackling Sound. Cause?

I no longer can stoop down from a standing position. If I drop something on the ground, I have to work real hard to reach the ground (without bending my knees) to retrieve the item. There is no pain , just alot of crackling noise . What is this condition called? Let me know. thanks.

Hello Linda,

Thank you for proposing your query.

What is your age, height and weight? Because your history suggests you are suffering from Osteoarthritis of Knee, which is a degenerative disease where in the protective cartilage on the ends of your bones wears down over time with advancing age.

I would suggest you, not to ignore it and get yourself examined by a competent Orthopedician who after a comprehensive physical examination and knee x rays will confirm it. Once confirmed, your treatment plan will be devised accordingly. Avoid walking heavily and try losing weight if you are overweight or obese. Quit smoking if you do.

Hope this answers your query.

Wish you Good Health.
