Difficulty In Managing And Tolerating The Army Life Despite Being Optimistic And Competitive Leading To Depression. Remedy?

Hello, I come from a nation where there is mandatory conscription for the army. After almost a year since I m drafted (with another 2 years to go), I m still having massive trouble adjusting the army. Despite my optimism and competence in life and school prior to the army, I find myself still simply unable to manage and tolerate the army life any longer. I often feel depressed, helpless and hopeless. Is there any SERIOUS medical condition I can fake (one that isn t a psychotic disorder as it will go on my permanent record and affect future employment chances) that will be able to pass the test of modern medical diagnosis techniques and equipments? Ideally this faked condition is one that can give me a few months reprieve or total exemption from the army. Please advise on the symptoms i should exhibit and the end state of the illness i am working towards faking. Thank you for your time

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Before attempting to fake, you should evaluate yourself genuinely by a psychiatrist for possibility of adjustment disorder or depressive disorder. He will suggest you how to cope with.

Army life may not be linked to this state at all

These two conditions are not ground for making misfit for service

Faking is most likely to be caught by psychiatric evaluation or by psychology tests

Hello Mr. Amazer (i believe in addressing people by their name but i could find only this identity of your's so did the needful)

thank you for the query,

Analyzing your query i realized that almost everyone of us can relate the emotions attached to your problems.we humans might say we have optimistic thinking but optimism is not just seen in facing 1-2 problems of life.optimism is to die for attitude.A soldier fighting at the border with just one hand functioning and other 3 limbs injured to core is said to have an optimistic attitude.i know you may be valid in arguing back that its easy to say but difficult to preach but trust me when we face life truly and watch those people who have nothing to live but still thank god and survive we realize how blessed we are.

I would highly recommend you go ahead and search for those people who have everything in life fame, success, family, property, satisfaction,PEACE,fearless about their life.you yourself will get your answer.

Coming to your question yes its disheartening that you have no option but to join and now you want to exit it in a foolproof manner.yes it is unethical for any doctor to prescribe or give irrelevant diagnosis in illegal sense.but given a choice you need a psychological guidance ,i believe you are a young chap with impatience on the way to run from situation. treat is as a challenge, you have spent 1yr here and 2 yrs more.Army life teaches how to live a disciplined life.the values taught there are highly practical and indulges the feeling of love towards motherland.see if there something wrong done to you which you feel is wrong in true sense then discuss it out to higher authorities fight for the truth. Am not saying you should suffer in the name of ethics.but yes if you have the problem in adjusting then always remember life teaches us only to adjust.Be brave hard work wont eat you.

note :- i have no intention of preaching you but if my these words can change your life for better then i wouldn't mind being in your bad books..

Wish you luck !!!!
