Difficulty Breathing, Sore Throat. Got Ventilator. Throat Worse, Hardly Speak. Drinking Water, Resting Voice. Rest Home/visit Doctor?

I went to doctors last Thursday as had experienced difficulty breathing. Had sore throat all week, worsening in evening / night. Got ventilator. Dr thought prob caused by viral infection. Over weekend my throat got worse and now can hardly speak. Drinking lots and resting my voice as much as possible. Should I go back to doctor or just rest up at home? Not sure how long I will need to be off work. Any advice?
