Pediatrician, Infectious Diseases, Dr. Hema Yadav's Response
Hello,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.
Considering the information you have provided your daughter does seem to suffer from gastroenteritis and which warrants treatment . The most important thing you can do is to keep her well hydrated and well fed. Oral rehydration solution given as sips throughout the day may help her feel better .
Apart from this probiotics and zinc supplements given twice daily usually decrease the frequency of diarrhoea and help in faster recovery. If despite such treatment for 3-4 days , the diarrhoea persists then an antibiotic like Cefixime or ofloxacin is usually prescribed by the doctor .
So kindly consult a pediatrician for an evaluation and management as her condition is not very likely to resolve without supportive treatment .Please do not worry as this seems a minor infection and is likely to resolve completely with treatment .
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards
