Diagnosed With High Sugar Level. Reduced With Diet And Multivitamin. Recent Blood Test Showed High Sugar Again

i have first come to know about my high sugar level 6 months back. It was 170 FBS. Then by using some ayurvedic medicine, strict diet control, exercise and a multivitamin it reduced to 93 FBS and 126 PPBS in 3 months. My the then doctor also advised me some tech. to controll stress. In June I have detailed blood test like FBS, PPBS, A1C, and other related tests all are Ok ( FBS-103, PPBs -124, A1C-7% etc). But last week I have tasted and FBs was 120. My age is 44 and I am a 2nd line manager of Sales and Administration job. My BP is fine all the times I checked. Kindly advice. Regards Prasanta.

Hi Prasanta,

What I can see from your medical data you are providing, your blood work looks fine although the oscillations you are mentioning.

Please keep in mind that there are many factors contributing to high fasting blood sugar as following:

- the food you had for dinner (perhaps you had a high-carb meal the night before the test)

- the morning hormones (which you cannot make any changes)

- stress (particularly induced from your current job; perhaps you had an overloaded day before the test done).

Next, I would suggest not to worry when your FBs are 120, especially, when it is only for a day (as you are saying, blood sugar is ok other days and measurements).

To me, you should go on with the current strategies you are following to reduce blood sugar, personally, I highly encourage patients to follow these strategies (ayurvedic herbal medications, strict diet control, exercises and multivitamins); the one diabetics highly needs.

The only problem I see in you is the "job-induced-stress" you might experiencing. Try the tech. advised by your doctor to control stress.

I would recommend to take some stress-releasing herbal teas (I prefer chamomile tea, especially at night) and to avoid stimulating soft drinks (cola, coffee more than 3 cups/day, energetic drinks, etc.).

Hope it helped!
