Costochondritis is a very painful condition and can mimic heart or lung diseases. I`m sure you have been checked to rulke out these diseases. Though painful, it is a benign condition and heals on its own over time without any medication. However, to give relief from pain you may take painkillers like ibuprofen or naproxen. You may also apply local heat with a heating pad. A local analgesic ointment may also help.
