Diagnosed With Chronic Cellulitis, On Zinnat. Right Cheek Red And Swollen, Applied Locoid, Worsened. How To Get Rid Of It ?

Hello Doctor, I am diagnosed with chronic cellulitis infection. My right cheek an ear become really red, swollen and hot. I am on zinnat 500 mg antibiotics. I got a lot of relief but my doc suggested to apply locoid cream for redness. As soon as i applied only on my cheek the very next day it got really red and really bad and burning now. I stopped locoid. How do i get rid of this side effect, pls help. Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Steroid cream on inflammatory type pains could aggravate the inflammation. You could instead be placed on oral steroid or non-steroid antiinflammatory which could practically get rid of the redness and swelling. You may continue the zinnat and also in addition take antiinflammatory oral medication.
Cold ice pack could give you temporary relief.
