I am a sixty year old woman who was, in the last year diagnosed with Hypogammaglobulinemia from bloodwork while seeing a Rheumatologist for burning tongue syndrome. (I have Hashimoto's thyroditis, reactive hypoglycemia, and had one half of my thyroid removed ten years ago). I was then diagnosed with Aggamagloulinemia by an Allergist/immunologist who said, there was nothing they could do for me...my IGA is off charts, low...IGg low on charts. I have just been diagnosed with CVID by my new GP who says I need to see an Immunologist for a second opinion. I have not had a real cold in over six years. I used to be sick (since age 3 all the time, asthma, pneumonia etc. almost died; had tonsils out, hemmorraged, etc.. I have always had longer recovery time getting over colds. It is really really ODD that I have no mucos ...and cough nothing up...in years. I spent one year in agony with the "Burning Tongue" syndrome...all kinds of treatments including anti depressants which I cannot tolerate. Lately I cannot tolerate physically most medicines: had appendectomy last Fall-was allergic to Morphine...got an infection afterwards, pain down legs...long recovery time. Lots of really STRANGE things & yet, I am not what you would consider sickly...no colds all the time etc.. Lots of stomach ailments...acid, had H-pylori, have been having gall bladder issues. My GP wants me to see another Immunologist...I don't know what to do. Don't want to waste anyone's time/money...don't want to run up medical bills to get no where...my husband is hyper vigilant about germs now...it doesn't make any sense. I am 60 years old! I am not sick all the time in the traditional sense...cough, runny nose etc.. But do I just ignore this? What is your advice?
