Diabetic, Hypertension, Mid Stroke, Obese And Slight Loss Of Memory.Recommendations?
Dear Doctor, Good morning ! I am Leroy Jones and I am 53 years old. my SGPT is 68 and my SGOT is 50. I am a Diabetic for the past 15 years and I also have Hypertension. I do take a single drink of alcohol (50 to 75 ml) at night. I used to be a smoker and was a daily high user of Cannabis ( Marihuana) . But I have given all that up now after a mid stroke winch suffered last year. I have recovered from the Deli-ma devoid of any paralysis except for a slight loss of Immediate recollection of memory as well as a minute blind spot. I am obese. I am a bit worried now. You advice is much appreciated LR
Hello, It is indeed very good that you have quit smoking and cannabis. The main goal for you now should be to achieve proper control of your diabetes, hypertension and blood lipid levels. Apart from regular medications, you require a proper diet control with emphasis on avoiding junk foods and eating healthy and a regular daily exercise regimen of 45 minutes of aerobic exercises. As far as alcohol is concerned, try never to exceed beyond 60 ml a day. Slightly high levels of SGOT and SGPT are due to consumption of alcohol, diabetes and obesity. Keep the woories off and make it a point to regularly visit your doctor and regular checking of your biochemical parameters. Keep your BP below 120/80,LDL cholesterol below 80 and triglycerides below 150. Thanks
