Hello
welcome to health care magic
Thanks for your query

Your mother is 45 yrs old and since 9 yrs she is diabetic,,and she is on regular insulin...

Normally insulin is the only hormone to fight against increased blood glucose levels..but in the case of diabetes insulin levels are either low or absent and for this either hypoglycemic agents like metformin or insulin is required..

In the case of physical stress like fever, infection in the body,or any trauma several hormones like epinephrine, cortisol, come into action to counter regulate stress,,and in turn they increase the glucose levels..
In normal persons insulin secretion is increased to control the glucose levels..
But in diabetic individuals the dose of insulin should be increased...

In your mother's case presence of fever and vomitings is a stress condition..and needs higher dose..
First of all control the fever causing infection.
Consult general physician for more suggestions..

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for.

Hi welcome,
Your mother aged 45 years old is diabetic, from last 9 years, is on insulin, since last two days she had high sugar, fever and frequent vomiting.
She has infection, and fever, in some fevers due to high temperature sugar levels may increase in some people.
Once the infection and fever is under controle, the sugar levels may be controlled. uptill then the insulin dose should be increased, till the blood sugar is controlled, so hospitalisation is necessory.
Thank you.
