Depression. Taking Oleanz. Can It Be Taken Alternative Days?

My wife was taking Oleanz 5mg everyday night as per the advice of our doctor last 6 weeks, as she is reluctant to take medicine, every day i am mixing this with apple juice, last week i could not able to give the medicine continuously, as she was near me, i could able to give on alternate nights only, when she is not taking medicine the next day she is some what okay, last ten days she is fed everyday without her knowledge, she is so depressive, always talk of death, can i continue everyday, also our doctor suggests that if she is more violent she can given Trancodol and Bexol together, please advice.

Oleanz is a medicine used to treat psychosis which includes symptoms like delusions, hallucinations and aggression. It needs to be given every day. It will not have much effect on symptoms of depression like low mood, loss of interest, fatigue, hopelessness about future, death wishes etc. Trancodol is also a similar medicine and Bexol is given only to prevent some side effects of Trancodol. If your wife is suffering from depression, then she will need treatment with antidepressants. Please consult a psychiatrist who can assess her in detail and suggest proper treatment for her.
