Could Weakness, Memory Loss And Sleeplessness Be Symptoms Of A Stroke?

My mother in law has weakness on her right side, she is forgetting what she is trying to say, having a hard time finding the right word, she isn t sleeping either. Could these be symptoms of a stroke? I am her caregiver and she hates going to the doctor because she has to wait so long. I am trying to convince her children that she needs to go to the hospital. Anyway, is it possible she has had a stroke? If so, should I just make the executive decision to call an ambulance?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
Regarding your question yes the symptoms you are describing especially the combination of right sided weakness with difficulty finding the right words indicate a stroke in the left side of her brain and she should be evaluated.
I understand that this answer is perhaps a little late considering the date of your query. Nevertheless I wanted to stress out that even if your mother in law hasn't been to the hospital because of having spontaneously improved because of the stroke not being major, she should be evaluated for the causes of the stroke like heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, because there is always the chance of having a second stroke with more serious consequences, so those causes should be addressed in order to reduce the risk of that happening.
Hope to have been of some help. Feel free to ask further questions.
