Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ate a sandwich about 5 hrs ago, I swalloed a piece of bread that i didn't chew, it was toasted and slightly large. I've been drinking water since because I thought it became logged in my throat, now I'm feeling discomfort on the left side of my chest behind my left breast when I swallow. Should I go to the ER?
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. As you describe, there might be a hard thing in the sandwich which might have scratched or sticked in the esophagus. I advise you to consult a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have esophagoscopy,to if there is some scratch, or impact of the food in the esophagus. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms omeprazole, domperidone, and aneasthetic antacid gel, till the diagnosis is confirmed. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
