Could Thyroid Nodules Be Causing Pain In Neck?

I am waiting to have a thyroidectomy, suspicious nodules and also have cervical stenosis. Pain in neck and cord area is worsening.Could the nodules be causing the pain? The area toward the mediastinum did not take up iodine on scan.Should I be trying to move surgey ahead?

Hello,
Thank you for using HCM!
As you are diagnosed with cervical stenosis I think this is the cause of your pain in the neck.

About the thyroid nodule I would suggest you to through surgery if:
-The nodule has increased the dimensions lately.
-If the Fine needle is suspicious for malignancy.
-If you have symptoms regarding the compression of the adjacent structures by the nodule (dyspnea, difficulties in swallowing, cough ect.)

If you give me some more information regarding other examinations that you have done for the nodule I am opened for further answers.
